At the Cardinal Cushing Centers, we support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing possibilities and opportunities for growth and advancement. Our programs for students, adults and community members include education, employment training, transition services, residential care, therapeutic and recreational services.
The Dietician/Nutritionist coordinates, plans, and conducts programs to educate students and staff about nutrition and administering medical nutrition therapy. Develops activities and provides advice to the Food Services Department and the Health Services Department. May work with individual students, staff members, or supervisors in order to develop diets and menus.
· Conducts programs and training to teach students and staff about healthy eating habits.
· Works with supervisory personnel in planning for the Food Services Department.
· Assesses individual dietary needs by meeting with students.
· Works to meet dietary needs of students by developing an effective meal plan.
· Provides nutritional information to students and staff.
· Tracks student dietary needs in a database as required.
· Advocates for healthful living on campus.
· Interacts with parents as necessary offering nutritional information.
· Researches and remains up-to-date on food, nutrition, and food service systems.
Related Work Experience
Experience working with a special needs population preferred
Formal Education, Certification, Licensing
A. Licensure in Dietetics/Nutrition from an accredited program
