Summary of Position:

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing, reviewing, and performing a full array of technical duties including inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various wastewater treatment equipment and devices to ensure wastewater standards are in compliance with Tribal, State, and Federal requirements. The Wastewater Operator III Certification is distinguished from the Wastewater Operator II by performing all necessary wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance. Incumbent may be assigned as a lead over assigned operators and will provide guidance, work allocation to wastewater operators, and demonstrate a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures, and work methods associated with assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Wastewater Systems Certification Level III issued by the State of New Mexico required, 2 years of experience in a Utility lead position, and 8 years of experience in the Water and Wastewater industry.
• Ability to read, write and understand written and oral instructions.
• Must have the ability to review and understand lab requirements and computer equipment.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50-100) pounds on a regular basis and sustain prolonged walking and standing.
• Must be able to make visual and audio inspections of field equipment and facilities.
• Extended working hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, or "on call" may be required.

Must be familiar with all safety protocols required in conducting the duties above.

• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
• Must have a valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo's liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
