POSITION SUMMARY

The Service Advisor is the face of Wilson County Motors in the Service Department and will be the primary point of contact for any customer coming in for service. The number one priority of the Service Writer is meeting customers on the service lane, attaining customer satisfaction, and having customer vehicles repaired right the first time.

Realize that during any interaction with customers, the employee should remember the HERO (Helpful, Exceeds expectations, Represents us well, takes Ownership) program. Also, the customer is the highest priority of any employee of Wilson County Motors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Provide customers with an excellent experience during every visit.
2. Greet customers, listen to their work requests, and record the information that will aid the Technician in making the correct repairs.
3. Review the work order with the customer, explaining the work to be performed in easy-to-understand terms.
4. Ensure every vehicle's completed service is performed to the customer's expectations and aligns with the work order.
5. Communicate with customers in-person, by phone, email, and text messaging.
6. Submit Warranty claims as required by the Service Manager.
7. Oversee, review, and manage the utilization of loaner vehicles and GM programs that require the department to meet the required metrics.
8. Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales.
9. Complete the repair orders (RO) and cash out guests.
10. Complete all training as assigned.
11. Maintain a high standard of professional appearance and a clean, organized work area.
12. Assist with opening/closing the store and property gates.
13. Interact professionally with team members in other departments.
14. Perform other related duties as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent work/education combination
• Ability to use a computer to perform work. (computer literacy)
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Six months prior experience in a customer-facing sales or service role.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add-subtract-multiple-divide)

PREFERRED SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Automotive experience is a plus.
• Prior experience performing Service Advisor for a dealership is preferred.
• Proficient with communicating by phone, text, and email.
• DealerTrack software experience is preferred but not required.

JOB EXPECTATIONS and REQUIRMENTS:

5. Promptly respond to customer inquiries.
6. Resolve customer issues by offering a positive resolution.
7. Ensure a safe working environment and immediately report safety concerns to the Service Director.
8. Ensure accuracy with all work performed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee Will be standing and walking for up to 80% of the shift with extensive time communicating with customers by telephone, text messaging, and email. It may require lifting, pushing, or pulling weights up to 25 lbs. Duties will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Some work might be performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
