Lab Technician
TECH 2000 is currently seeking candidates for a lab technician position at a client's La Porte area analytical laboratory.
Ideal candidates will have experience utilizing various analytical instrumentation including some GC, UV-Vis, IR, HPLC, and wet chemical methods of analysis (titrations and distillations, pH).
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic understanding on analytical chemistry.
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills together with the ability to effectively manage project deliverables.
- Math and statistical analysis.
- Computer skills – Chromatography Data System (CDS), laboratory information management systems (LIMS), spreadsheets, word processing, graphic presentation generation.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently or in a team based environment.
- Persuasive communication skills.
- Effective email/vocal communication.
- Minimum 2-year Technical Associate Science Degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a lab setting.
- Must have working knowledge of GCs.
- Must have knowledge of standardized methodology – ASTM, UOP, IFP, etc.
- Able to learn new analytical instrumentation as necessary.
- Ability to work shift schedules.
DETAILS
- Pay: $22/hr
- Location: La Porte, TX
- Shift: Rotating Shift
