Jeff Martin Auctioneers is one of the fastest growing auction businesses in the nation, because our customers "experience the difference" we deliver. As we grow, we are looking for key roles such as the territory sales manager to continue facilitating that growth.

The ideal territory sales manager candidate will not just have outbound/B2B sales experience, but ideally experience with construction equipment and auctions, as that is the service the TSM will be selling. TSM's are our sales road warriors, finding folks who need help offloading/liquidating heavy equipment and similar items so that way our yards are full and ready for auction day.

JOB SUMMARY:

The territory sales manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales, marketing, financial and structural strategies within the market of the assigned territories. The job duties include working with all territory sales representatives and marketers, communicating about sales goals and expectations and gathering research about the target market.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Introduce our global marketing potential to assist equipment owners in converting their surplus assets into cash to improve the sales potential and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiently generate and maintain Contractor-Dealer relationships in person, via phone, and networking in the field.
  • Ensure the delivery of individual targets, performance reviews, people management and reward(s).
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs, help them as a trusted advisor, and assess the quality of the company’s relationship with them.
  • Determine the company’s gross-profit and annual unit plans by analyzing trends and results and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Develop field sales action plans to facilitate the implementation of the regional sales programs.
  • Plan for the achievement of individual and divisional targets in alignment with the strategies and policies of the company.
  • Uplift the regional sales volume to its possible best.
  • Develop and review long-and short-term sales strategies.
  • Contribute to the processes of recruiting new employees.
  • Achieve or exceed established sales goals as set by manager. Deliver superior customer experience in order to achieve account retention and growth.
  • Manage and service account list in person, via phone and through email, build strong, lasting relationships with dealers and operating location staff.
  • Know the competition; their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Follow-up on potential client leads, on-going client relations, projects, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 2-5 years sales/territory management in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Successful track record of achievement in service and/or sales of heavy equipment of large ticket items to local contractors.
  • Experience in the development and management of a territory through networking.
  • Possess strong knowledge of how to seek out and create opportunities for sales.
  • Capable of developing sound relationships with prospects, targets and client base.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
  • Willingness to work competitively with a strong desire to be the best, reach goals and gain positive results.
  • Great follow-up skills.
