Wolverine Industries is Hiring a Maintenance Planner Near Decatur, AL

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: The role of the Stores Project Manager is to optimize expenditures and technician productivity through best practice planning methods that support best practice scheduling and ensure safe, reliable plant operation.
Role synopsis: Responsible for stockroom operations including purchasing and inventory management. Collaborated with vendors on current product movement and incorporation of new products. Monitored job flow and quality assurance. The Manager works jointly with procurement to obtain an optimized total cost of materials and services, within specification requirements that supports safe work practices and plant safety and operational objectives. The manager is responsible for providing data to support maintenance metrics. The Maintenance Manager will be assigned to the maintenance manager. The Managers primary responsibility is to review notifications, create maintenance orders and plan labor and material required to execute the order. Other duties can include scheduling, requisition of materials, maintenance order management and Database maintenance. This requires a working knowledge of computer applications and a functional understanding of maintenance craft skills, tools, and equipment in the areas of responsibility.
Key accountabilities:
1. Comply with all site safety and environmental policies.
2. Screen all notifications, except emergency notifications, in assigned area of responsibility to see that the notification accurately defines the scope of work, meets the criteria for the assigned priority, and is a valid request for work to be performed by maintenance personnel and financed by the applicable maintenance expense budget. The manager converts notifications into maintenance work orders (MO) and creates a maintenance work plan. As needed, the manager secures additional information prior to converting the notification into a maintenance order.
3. As required, the manager reviews the cost estimate with the applicable Maintenance Manager before proceeding with the order.
4. Create detailed job plans for all MOs in area of responsibility, except emergency MOs. Detailed job plans could include field walk down or evaluation; manpower estimates by craft or contractor to support best practice scheduling and note any applicable safety regulations/concerns.
5. Create a job package that goes to the field for use by the appropriate technicians. The job package would include: a copy of the MO; technical service data; reference drawings; any additional safety information.
6. Maintain a planned backlog for assigned crews in the areas of responsibility.
7. Maintain planned backlog in area of responsibility by priority. Produce or assist in creation of schedules for Mini-Outages.
8. Create and maintain databases. This includes data input for functional locations, equipment, bills of material, reusable job plans for repetitive jobs, predictive/preventive maintenance task list, equipment items and maintenance plans.
9. Provide materials, tools, services and equipment through requisitioning, storehouse stock, or rentals (for non-emergency work only).
10. Create and maintain Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PPM) tasks/orders to be used in the scheduling process.
11. Provide input to the planning/scheduling metrics and provide services to help maintain metric target levels.
12. Communicate with maintenance, operations, vendors, manufacturers, and contractors; facilitate expedition of materials and services for non-emergency work per planning directives.
13. Perform special duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager that are applicable to the Decatur maintenance work processes.
14. Develop scope of work for competitive bid processes.
15. Following execution of the work, certain critical information is recorded for future reference including correction of any parts related data, identification of the failure code for the work involved, update any reusable job plans as needed, capture of any data specific to the job and included in the database record, close out of the MO.
Requirements

Specific Manager Scheduling Responsibilities:
1. Create and maintain data base of planned ready-to-work MOs to be used in the daily/weekly or mini-outage scheduling processes. This includes reporting accurate resource data to the Maintenance Manager to support scheduling resource leveling. Coordinate MO prioritization with Maintenance Manager and Operations Manager
2. Create and publish weekly and daily schedules
3. Attend daily update meetings with Maintenance Manager to revise/finalize the next day?s or week?s work schedule.
Essential Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Desirable criteria & qualifications: Two year college technical degree or technical training preferred. Experience with scheduling software.
