Merola Tile is Hiring a Product Development Assistant Near Manalapan, NJ

Merola Tile is a leading national tile distributor that proudly imports high quality, on-trend and emotionally inspiring tiles from around the world to suit a diverse flooring market.

The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 130 people and distributes tile in the U.S. and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names. Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking and managing physical samples for all products of interest
    • Assist warehouse team with drop-off of new samples and log sample arrivals on file
    • Assist team to move samples and keep samples area organized
  • Build SKU information and enter product data into Sage 300 ERP and our WMS software
    • Ensure accuracy of product information collected from suppliers
    • Enter data for general product and purchasing related fields while ensuring consistency in our catalog
    • Record and update vendor contract costs for each SKU
  • Assist with Meeting Preparation
    • Gather physical samples to meeting venue
    • Assist collecting and compiling notes from team and historic meeting notes
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and cross functional teams
  • Additional tasks as needed, including but not limited to:
    • Assist with gathering data needed for product analysis

Physical Requirements:

Regularly stand/sit for extended periods, operate office equipment, perform light-moderate lifting, lift/move up to 80 lbs. occasionally, bend, twist, and maintain posture. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Data entry experience using an ERP system preferred.
  • Experience in ceramic tile industry or having product knowledge of ceramic tiles preferred.
  • Some college or technical school, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly switch between office and warehouse environment. Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods, operate office equipment. Our warehouse is not climate-controlled. This includes sometimes being exposed to the outdoor environment.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally during the shift.
