CardWorks Servicing is Hiring an Associate I, Document Services (Work In Office) Near Woodbury, NY

CardWorks Servicing ("CWS") is one of the largest privately-held provider of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America. CWS offers management expertise across the credit spectrum and supports both MasterCard and Visa accounts as well as a variety of private label debit, credit, stored value, and customer bankcards.

Position Summary:

This role is primarily responsible for the handling of incoming and outgoing mail, as well as preparation for our scanning operations by our vendor. Specifically, this role handles the distribution and collection of incoming mail, preparation, processing and forwarding of outgoing mail and determining, affixing, and recording postage on registered mail/packages, check handling for our Settlement Services department, and other mail room functions as required and the needs of the company evolve. As a Mail Room associate, this position also requires performing administrative and clerical duties inherent in the mail handling process and providing operational and cardholder support regarding these processes.

Essential Functions

  • As assigned, tracks incoming mail, correspondence, checks, etc., and processes incoming/ outgoing overnight packages
  • Plans, organizes and schedules assignment/projects assuring follow-through to completion
  • Reviews, sorts and prepares incoming mail to be forwarded for imaging
  • Assists other departments as needed
  • Maintains knowledge or current policy and procedure changes and updates, and serves as a resource to clients, and external departments
  • Processing of all security work received daily
  • Handles the printing, folding, and stuffing for all outgoing correspondence to customers
  • Processes ad-hoc scanning requests as received by other operational areas
  • Performs delivery of mail to appropriate personnel and departments as needed
  • Captures and destroys returned cards on a monthly basis
  • Fulfills special mailing requests as needed from other departments
  • Adheres to the regulatory timeframes and controls within the department and business unit
  • Other functions and duties as required by management/evolving needs of the department

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent education required
  • One (1) year of related operations, support or mailroom experience required
  • One (1) year of credit card industry experience is a plus
  • Work-related inbound and/or outbound telephone experience highly desirable
  • Experience working with computers is required
  • Experience with First Data Resources (FDR), Evolve, or related platforms preferred

  • Must be able to complete work within required timeframes

  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work is in an office environment, sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time.

  • Travel is generally not required
  • This position reports to an assigned Team Leader and supervises no one
