Optim Medical Center - Tattnall is seeking a full time Total Joint and Spine Educator/RN for our Reidsville location.

Position Requirements:

• Develop an education tool for patients/families through discussion, printed material, visual material and demonstration.
• Assesses patient/family knowledge of surgical procedure and recovery.
• Develops tools to use for patient/family knowledge deficit.
• Provides and develops education/orientation for hospital staff in relation to Joints and Spines.
• Works with Committee to develop standardized orders for Preoperative testing, Postoperative Care and Physical Therapy modalities.
• Acts as a facilitator between patients/families/staff/physicians as needed.
• Develops tools to aid staff in improvement of patient care.
• Develop close working relationship with surgeons to aid in program development.
• Liaison with surgeons and staff as needed.
• Consults on a regular basis with each surgeon performing joints and spinal fusions for information updates and improvement of care.
• Consults with department heads for patient care improvement.
• Works in collaboration with interdisciplinary team to meet individual patient needs before discharge.
• Serves as a resource for all departments and personnel.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as directed.

Education:

• RN. Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.
