Vertava Health is Hiring a Lead Therapist- Independently Licensed Near Southaven, MS
Job Summary:As Lead Therapist, you will organize and oversee a team of licensed therapists to deliver evidence based treatment to adult patients with substance use disorders. You will offer direct supervision to ensure each team member understands and embraces the disease model of addiction; motivational interviewing (MI); and the tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). You will ensure that treatment and documentation aligns with all applicable legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.While you may not carry a caseload of patients, you will conduct (or assign) comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments with all newly admitted patients. You should also be available to cover groups or sessions for your team members as needed.Priority responsibilities include:Develop and supervise a team of therapists
Work with the People Team to recruit, hire, and train a team of full-time and per diem staff to meet established staffing ratios
Maintain and adjust a staffing schedule that addresses fluctuations in census
Assign caseloads and cohorts
Ensure the completion of biopsychosocial assessments within 72 hours of admission
Conduct biweekly supervision with direct reports
Facilitate opportunities for students and interns
Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, positive energy, and compassionate support for patients, peers, and oneself
Review and uphold clinical policies and practices to advance:
Standards of care
Safety
Measurable positive outcomes
Efficiency and workflow
Compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory standards
Improve and oversee processes related to:
Assessments and referrals
Treatment and aftercare planning
Documentation expectations
Utilization Review
Training and competency checks
Collaborate with other departments, teams and stakeholders, including:
Treatment teams
Local and Senior Leadership Teams
Business development teams
Medical Director, Medical and Psychiatric Providers
Nursing Department
Patient families
Local hospitals and providers
Utilization review team and insurance companies
Local colleges and universities
Professional organizations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Licensed Clinician: LCSW, LMFT, or LPC required
Masters degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other related field required
Minimum of 3-years post licensure experience
Understanding of the disease model of addiction and evidence-based treatment
Knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; judgement; and decision-making ability
Familiarity with ASAM Dimensions and level of care criteria
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stress
Physical Requirements:
Ability to use hands and fingers, talk or hear
Ability to sit, stand, walk and reach continually. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine
Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
