Loudoun County School District is Hiring a Teacher, RTI Consulting (MTSS) (EOY) Near Ashburn, VA

Position Overview

Under general supervision of the Response to Intervention Coordinator, the MTSS-RTI Consulting Teacher is responsible for providing support in the implementation and evaluation of the RTI framework to schools across the division. The position is also responsible for designing and delivering high quality professional learning to school staff and leaders in the areas of instruction, intervention, and progress monitoring strategies to support the use of evidence-based practices in schools. This position directly aligns with LCPS’ Strategic Plan for Excellence (Goal 1: Empowered Students).

Roles and Responsbilities

  • Teach, model, facilitate, and build capacity to utilize research-based best practices within the school’s RTI framework to support student learning
  • Support schools through a model of consultation and collaboration with teams and administrators, including coordinated site visits, staff consultations, and collecting feedback from stakeholders
  • Collect and analyze division-level data to identify trends in the areas of screening, progress monitoring, and instructional practices as well as formative and summative RTI assessments
  • Plan and deliver professional learning, technical assistance, and resources to support the framework of RTI in alignment with division-wide goals
  • Directly support classroom teachers in their use of intervention (e.g., Explicit Systematic Cumulative Phonics Intervention)
  • Performs designated special projects and all other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Holds a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred) and a valid Virginia teaching license
  • Has experience participating in a school implementation of RTI
  • Has demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers, administrators, and community members
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Uses a team approach and is collaborative to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to improve student outcomes

Itinerant travel is required, and the employee is frequently required to change locations and adapt to multiple environments across schools, offices and home visits. Ability to drive and navigate to multiple locations occasionally within a single day is required.

This is an EOY (End-of-Year) contract position
