Job Description
Job Summary:
Performs skilled work in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures pertaining to heating, water, and drainage systems.
Job Duties:

• Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing fixtures, systems, and equipment.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs various types of water heating and low pressure boiler units and controls.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs air, gas, water, waste, and steam lines, circulating pumps, steam coolers, sinks, and steam pressure regulators.
• Cleans drains, including storm drains, and removes obstructions from water and sewer lines.
• Repairs and replaces pipes, valves, fittings, ball cocks and a variety of other fixtures.
• Repairs and replaces pipes and control valves, fittings, and a variety of other fixtures and devices.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition; plans and organizes assignments effectively.
• Maintain record of work performed and materials used.
• Present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers, co-workers, and supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety Requirements :

• Actively participate in the GCR & Project Occupational Safety & Health Program.
• Perform all assigned work in a safe and reasonable manner that avoids preventable injury to you, co-workers, customers and/or members of the public.
• Immediately report all occupational injuries, unsafe conditions, and/or property damage.
• Use and enforce the wearing of personal protective equipment.
• Always wear a seatbelt while operating/riding in a company vehicle, government vehicle, or a privately owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of GCR.
• Not be unfit for work due to the presence, ingestion, consumption or inhalation of illegal drugs, prescribed medications, over-the-counter drugs and/or alcohol.

Machines, Tools and Equipment Used:

• Hand and power tools.
• Ladders, scaffolds & manlifts.
• Small power equipment (wet vacs, power washers, etc.)
• Diagnostic test equipment.
• Hand and power tools.

Mandatory:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance/Base Access.
• Be a citizen of the United States.
• Submit to and successfully pass Pre-employment Drug Screening and Background Check.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Plumbers License.
• Minimum of three years' experience in the Plumbing trades.
• Valid State Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in extreme work environments, such as heat, cold, heights, confined spaces, excessive noise, etc.
• Be able to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
• Basic computer skills, to include the ability to use software programs such as Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel.
• Be physically cable of performing the physical requirements of the position on a daily basis. Able to work a non-traditional work week, to include evenings, weekends and/or Holidays as work demands dictate and/or directed by the Superintendent.

Preferred:

• Prior military or experience working on Government Contracts.
• Associates Degree.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Current universal EPA certification.
