**About Childrens Minnesota:**

Childrens Minnesota is the seventh largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Childrens serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, 12 primary and specialty care clinics and six rehabilitation sites.

**Department Overview:**

Nutrition Services specializes in outpatient nutrition counseling on pediatric nutrition issues. They also provide inpatient assessments and education as well as some on-going support with outpatient follow-up. Nutrition is an essential part of healing for all of the patients who receive care at Childrens Minnesota, and we need your help as a Cook to ensure everyone gets the nourishment they need.

**Position Summary:**

This is an entry level Cook position that will work at our Minneapolis hospital. This is a great opportunity for someone who is excited to learn new cooking techniques and styles, as well as advance their career in a supportive and growing organization!

Main responsibilities include:

* Preparing and/or serving food for patients, families, visitors, and staff at the hospital.

* Ensuring that food for patients is developmentally age appropriate.

* Ensuring that dietary restrictions and guidelines are met.

* May help in the operation of food service equipment, cash handling, dish-washing, grill service, and general cleaning as needed.

**NOTE:** This is a part time position (benefits eligible) that will work a combination of day and evening shifts. This position also requires the employee to work every other weekend.

**Qualifications**

:

* Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Certification from the National Restaurant Association within 60 days of hire.

* Must have previous dietary experience and a minimum of 1 year of cook experience, but prefer 2 years.

* Cash handling experience optional.

**Physical Demands:**

All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Childrens Minnesota requires proof of first COVID-19 vaccine dose, and as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), immunity to vaccine preventable infectious diseases, prior to employment.
