Job Summary:

• Prepares, ensures and submits correct claims.
• Oversees day-to-day processes in regards to managing account payments

Essential Functions:

• Adheres to legal and ethical requirements regarding the products and services of the agency.
• Insures compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Submits Home Health/Hospice Medicare claims within the timing guidelines
• Prepares and submits claims electronically or by means according to payer specifications.
• Reviews for inconsistencies or discrepancy between submission and payments received.
• Perform Billing Audits per insurance policy guidelines.
• Reports any delinquent account activity and follows through accordingly.
• Stays current on state and federal regulations, making suggestions for compliance as needed.
• Performs account management operations with accuracy, requiring little or no supervision.
• Works within company financial goals, and acts to ensure cost containment.
• Develops and maintains accurate files and company forms.
• Identifies and reacts accordingly to problems as they arise, offering solutions for quick resolution.
• Communicates effectively with business office and clinical personnel.
• Is sensitive to the needs of our clients, family, physicians, staff, and support services.
• Promotes a positive attitude at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED
• Some college or equivalent related job experience preferred

Knowledge Requirements:

• A minimum of two years home health/hospice Medicare billing experience
• Requires proficiency in contact management software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power
  Point)
• MUST understanding and have knowledge of Medicare and private
  insurance billing requirements.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
• Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
