Overview:

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable and reconciliation. Excellent customer service skills are essential for this role.

Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

• Maintains Accounts Receivable system, including data entry, customer invoices, application of cash receipts, assessment and resolution of routine Accounts Receivable problems.
• Controls A/R records storage.
• Reconciles monthly customer statements. Acts as the primary accounting contact for all accounts receivable.
• Researches and prepares recommendations for improvement in accounts receivable and related processes.
• Compiles ad-hoc reporting as necessary to assist in analyzing different accounts receivable cycles.
• Assists in monitoring and strategizing around collections of various outstanding accounts receivable.
• Coordinates with other accounting/finance/sales team members to collectively interface with retail accounts on the collection accounts receivable.
• Assists the Finance Team in other areas relating to the accounting department

Reconciliation:

• Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices, substantiating business transactions.
• Adds and verifies invoice totals to delivery driver deposit tickets.
• Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers.
• Computes and records charges, refunds, lost or damaged goods, freight charges, and similar items.
• Prepares nightly reports and reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
• Reviews computer printouts against manually kept records and makes corrections.
• Assists with related special projects, as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles
- Knowledge of account reconciliation principles
- Familiarity with corporate accounting practices
- Highly proficient in MS Excel required, proficiency in MS Access preferred

- Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding payments
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
