Inventory & general accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis. Providing support to the Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the department.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Prepare and file monthly state sales tax returns
• Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
• Assist Accounting Manager with any other balance sheet matters
• Other projects as determined by Management

Inventory

• Process monthly inventory activity into general ledger such as inventory receipts, bills of material, other inventory stock transactions, finished goods and RMA transactions
• Perform monthly physical inventory with warehouse staff and reconcile to books
• Reconcile and maintain all inventory balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Prepare month-end inventory reports for management
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal inventory controls and procedures

Required Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience in General Accounting
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Detail oriented with the ability to investigate and resolve problems
• Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data
• Technical accounting skills
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software (such as QuickBooks)
• Experience in Inventory Management System (such as MYSis Manufacturing)
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Effective planning and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to effectively prioritize time sensitive deadlines and adapt to changing priorities

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
