16 On Center HQ and our portfolio of renowned food, beverage, and venue concepts seek an optimistic, driven, and dedicated person for our culinary team.
This role works closely with our head chef and culinary team in our Central Kitchen to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and the consistent delivery of high quality menus.
Key Responsibilities
Creates and executes menus for Artist Hospitality Lounge
Participates in preparation and execution of wholesale, catering and private event menus
Jumps in where help is needed across properties
Maintains equipment and arranges for repairs when necessary
Maintains food inventory to execute wholesale, catering and private event menus
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations as well as safety standards
Foster a climate of cooperation and respect amongst the team
Brainstorming creative ideas and new menu items
Travel to events and assist with troubleshooting, set up, and resolve any execution hiccups
Display in-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
Remaining agile with the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
Pack or flip vans with necessary equipment and tools for event success
Enforce structure, teamwork, and open communication as well as top notch execution
Monitor staff performance, product quality and production flow; foster improvement where necessary.
Working knowledge of a variety of cuisines and global flavors.
Daily line, cooler, and dry storage checks to maintain proper rotation, freshness, and ultimate quality of mise en place to minimize waste and to ensure adherence to all health code requirements.
Skills
Proven experience as a cook or kitchen assistant in a restaurant or similar setting.
Solid understanding of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Creativity and passion for cooking.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
