The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn for over 40 years. We are seeking an ECW Coordinator to join our team. The Coordinator oversees the day to day support of all production and test platforms to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the eCW platform. The ECW Coordinator works with BSFHC providers, nursing, support staff, managers, and leadership and is responsible for supporting the overall EHR Project use by end-users and for customer contact and resolution of application related issues and non-complex, technical problems related to the eClinical Works (eCW) product. The ECW System Administrator provides a secure, compliant, robust, reliable, scalable and efficient infrastructure and will direct infrastructure support strategy and operations of the eCW platform.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Functions as primary liaison between the practice and support departments/ teams at BSFHC;
  • Responsible for the overall performance, availability and capacity of the eCW platform;
  • Responds to end-user requests for issue resolution and works to resolve problems quickly and accurately;
  • Works within the EHR Team Governance Structure to assist in the support and deployment of eCW applications across BSFHC;
  • Works with vendor and BSFHC-based IT staff to ensure strict adherence to maintenance windows, Systems Change Management, Release Management, QA/Testing and Disaster Recovery protocols and processes
  • Supports the various EHR needs of providers throughout the Center's use of the eCW platform.
  • Delivers EMR training to practice staff and physicians, following specified ECW training standards;
  • Provides regular status reports to all key Program Managers and end users;
  • Gathers and analyzes data, and ensures all timely updates to the eCW platform;
  • Ensure that BSFHC is compliant with all HIPAA Privacy and Security on eCW platform
  • Maintains an issue knowledgebase to document technical support issues and associated resolution approaches as part of proactive approaches to problem management;
  • Assists in designing and updating clinical workflow education materials;
  • Assists with enhancement requests of end users, documentation, and prioritization as well as efforts to reduce the variation of clinical processes throughout practice workflows.
  • Works with the QI team to design and configure requested clinical templates and/or forms for enabling a more efficient workflow;
  • Provide on-call technical support responsibilities for eCW infrastructure including identification, troubleshooting, remediation, research, escalation and issue resolution;
  • Assist with monthly clinical user support and workflow calls;
  • Identifies gaps in efficient workflow adoption at all practice sites of BSFHC;
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree Prefers
  • Two (2) years relevant work experience preferred in a clinical background as a BSN or RN with a health informatics background.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a Clinical application support environment and 2 or more years of progressive experience in a similar healthcare environment.
Other Related Skills/Experience and requirements:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out moderately complex, multi-step instructions and make appropriate independent decisions as necessary.
  • Strong understanding of EMR/EHR software and/or physician practice management applications;
  • Solid understanding of physician practice operations including charge capture and clinical documentation;
  • Outstanding listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate with providers and practice staff;
