Regional Sales Manager
Objective
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and managing a sales team within a designated region. You will be expected to build relationships with independent Sales Consultants and clients, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with other departments to ensure high customer satisfaction. The Regional Sales Manager will split their time between the office handling administrative duties, visiting schools, meeting with the Sales Consultants, and attending business meetings. You will be expected to stay up to date with industry trends and customer needs to ensure the success of the region. With your drive and enthusiasm, you will be a key player in helping the company meet its goals.

Your Contribution to the Team Includes
  • Develop and implement regional sales plans and forecasts to achieve company objectives for new business, revenue growth, profitability, and market share
  • Ensure the delivery of Sales Consultant targets through individual recognition, performance review, and people management
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of the company’s relationship with them
  • Provide the necessary support to Sales Consultants to enable them to generate market leads and close new deals
  • Manage regional customer events by partnering with Sales Consultants and Marketing to budget, allocate resources, and execute the event to maximize success
  • Utilizing Salesforce, establish and track Sales Consultant performance metrics and KPIs
  • Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts, and partnerships
  • Negotiate discount and incentives on large project opportunities to maximize Booksource profit when the project does not involve a bid/proposal
  • Responsible for national and regional conference schedules, exhibits, and sales support materials including facilitating customer events
  • Work with Sales Trainer to develop and implement sales training initiatives, including onboarding of new hires
  • Facilitating general sales sessions, and lead monthly meetings with Sales Consultants and internal participants
  • Monitor competitors’ activities in the region and develop counter-strategies
  • Ensure that consistent brand identity is upheld in all consultant correspondence, collateral, and events
  • Travel up to 25% of the time
What You’ll Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven experience in the sales and marketing field
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategies
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a sales team
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Knowledge of sales techniques, strategies and pricing models
  • Ability to negotiate customer deals
  • Experience in customer relations and problem resolution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
