UW Health Care Direct is Hiring an Infusion Nurse Manager Near Middleton, WI

Summary

The Infusion Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational, financial, and human resources functions of the infusion nursing program, including the ambulatory infusion suite (AIS). The Manager is responsible for these areas in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

Principal activities for the Manager:

  • Direct operations to effectively achieve the vision and strategic, financial, and operational plans that have been developed for their areas of responsibility.
  • Supervise nurses and clinical operations staff. Direct activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished effectively, efficiently, and professionally, to the benefit of patients, employees, Company owners, and the Company.
  • Provides guidance to home infusion and AIS operations and staff to secure accreditation.

Essential Job Knowledge

  • Leads the day-to-day operations and coordination of the infusion nursing programs.
  • In collaboration with clinical leadership team, guides infusion nursing operations toward achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual projections based on financial and management objectives.
  • Collaborates with community partners to ensure safe and effective care for patients.
  • Maintains clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practice, pharmacotherapy, and intravenous therapy.
  • Analyzes clinical practice and identify opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Identifies clinical indicators to measure, evaluate, and improve care.
  • Understands and adheres to all applicable state, local and federal laws and/or regulations; company policies and procedures; and external accreditation/review standards.
  • Prepares operating budgets, including volume projections and expense and revenues estimates. Analyzes and monitors actual budget performance and address variances.
  • In collaboration with senior leadership team, participates in strategic planning efforts.
  • Manages activities for direct reports including recruitment, orientation, behavioral training and skills development, supervision, performance evaluation and performance management.
  • Provides clear, measurable, and timely performance expectations to staff to ensure adherence to all company policies, expectations, departmental workflows, and productivity standards.
  • Investigates patient experience concerns, provides feedback to operations leaders, supports service recovery, and implements proactive measures to improve service.
  • Participates in build/maintenance of workflow processes and pertinent records in electronic medical record.
  • Able to competently staff the infusion nurse roles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and needed.
  • Successfully completes initial and ongoing organizational and department education, training, and competency requirements.
  • Infection Control: Understands, demonstrates, and follows organizational infection control guidelines (CDIC).
  • Quality: Focuses on improving processes and champions efficiency in daily work activities.
  • Safety: Promotes a culture of safety by taking accountability for individual actions, including but not limited to, promptly reporting errors or near misses via the organization’s occurrence reporting system and participating in developing improved safety processes, as appropriate. (ADM015, ADM016, OPS044, Mission Statement).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Licenses

  • State of Wisconsin Professional licensure for Registered Nurse

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Graduate degree desired

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience required
  • Supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Experience in home infusion, care coordination, infusion center, or home health desired

Miscellaneous

  • On call responsibility
  • Certifications: CPR/BLS certified
