We are seeking a creative, kind, and ambitious Assistant General Manager to lead our recently opened restaurant, Margot, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Your exceptional leadership skills, beverage knowledge, and passion for delivering outstanding hospitality will be instrumental in driving our success.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse team of restaurant staff, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and support staff.
    • Set performance expectations, provide training, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
    • Focus on beverage sales / beverage support during service.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth.
  2. Operations Management:

    • Ensure smooth daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, reservation management, and staff scheduling
  3. Guest Experience and Quality Assurance:

    • Maintain a high standard of service excellence, ensuring that guests receive exceptional hospitality and a memorable dining experience.
    • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, resolving issues to achieve guest satisfaction.
    • Monitor and uphold quality standards for food, beverage, and service.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in restaurant management
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.
  • A creative, kind, and patient leadership style
  • Proven track record of achieving financial targets, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional hospitality.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze financial reports, identify trends, and implement effective strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with guests and staff.
  • Knowledge of NY state health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
