Humanus Corporation is Hiring a Direct support professional Near Virginia, VA
We are currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for full-time positions working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) in the Virginia Beach, VA area.
These are residential based positions providing varying levels of support; some individuals needing more than others. There are several schedules available, however the primary need is 2nd shift and weekends.
Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid drivers license. Candidates with prior experience working with individuals with disabilities are preferred.
Qualifications :
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid drivers license
- 1 year experience in a home health aide setting or school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required
Responsibilities :
- Teach and assist activities of daily living to the individuals
- Complete assigned paperwork daily
- Successfully complete all required training
- Carry out prescribed health care plans, including the administration of medication
- Interact with program consumers in an age-appropriate, respectful, and safe manner at all times
- Meet individuals personal needs in a manner that ensures privacy and dignity
- Comply with all applicable agency requirements
