Job Summary
Entry level management position that leads the banquet staff while personally assisting in executing events based on requirements and standards. Develops and directs team to provide consistent, high quality service. Communicates performance expectations and trains staff in processes. Responsible for managing financial and administrative duties.
Core Work Activities
Providing and Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Strives to improve service performance.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
- Reviews quarterly Meeting Planner Survey and participates in the development and implementation of corrective action to address service challenges; focuses on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.
Assisting with Managing and Coordinating Banquet Operations and Staff
- Ensures that meeting rooms are set and equipped properly.
- Maintains a professional staff to set up the rooms and assist with evening functions.
- Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events.
- Serves as the liaison between the Kitchen, the Banquets and Events Manager and the Guest.
- Ensures evening functions are properly set up and on time.
- Cleans up, accounts, and properly stores food and beverage items at the end of a function.
- Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in catering service, food and wine, P&L, budgets, theme concepts and kitchen operations.
- Assists with the management of controllable expenses for department.
- Maintains sanitation levels.
- Assists clients with last minute requests.
- Assists with overseeing banquet department and floor operations.
- Ensures the physical appearance of the meeting rooms is up to current standards and also includes the business center and storage rooms.
Physical Activities and Requirements
- Standing, remaining upright on feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
- Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances, moving from one sit to another and at a fast pace
- Lifting, raising objects (up to 50 lbs.) from a lower to a higher position, moving objects horizontally from position to position and relocating large objects.
- Pushing and Pulling, using extremities to press, draw, drag or haul against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward
- Outdoor events, worker is subject to outside environmental conditions
- Hazards, worker is subject to exposure to chemicals. Must wear appropriate provided protection to avoid contact
Performs other duties as assigned and needed.
