Description
Facilities Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION | SUMMARY:
Maintain University facilities including but not limited to student housing and common areas, classrooms, offices, bathrooms and banquet facilities. Perform custodial tasks and minor maintenance and building repairs. Assistance with athletic and stadium grounds when necessary. Waste removal, recycling and maintenance facilities on campus.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Keep grounds maintained
  • Perform minor repairs to include but not limited to building electrical, plumbing, general carpentry, paint, dry wall, and heating and cooling
  • Perform custodial functions as necessary to maintain clean buildings
  • Provide campus security as needed, respond to alarm alerts
  • Respond to requests and support University staff/students/customers in a timely manner
  • Relocate furniture, equipment and supplies in and around campus
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and off-hour shifts and be willing to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Handling the physical demands of an active position
  • Construction background preferred
  • Custodial background preferred
