Boulder Jewish Community Center is Hiring a Facilities Manager Near Boulder, CO

We are currently offering a $1000 hiring bonus for a full-time Facilities Manager. The first half of the bonus will be paid after 90 days of employment and the remaining half will be paid out at 6 months. Our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking to add a talented, conscientious, and motivated Facilities Manager to the team. The primary role of this position is to manage and execute event setup, building maintenance, exterior needs, and be a friendly, helpful presence. The facilities manager serves as one of the most important ambassadors for the Boulder JCC as they are interacting with and creating an inviting space for everyone who comes on site.

This position requires an affinity to work both independently and collaboratively to handle varied requests and proactively anticipate changing needs. In addition to being organized and detail-oriented, success in this position depends on your welcoming disposition, proactive approach to projects, a desire and willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Facilities Director to perform general maintenance, restocking of supplies, landscaping, and event setup/teardown as needed
  • Interface with organizations using Boulder JCC space to assure appropriate plans for set-up and clean up are in place
  • Provide support to the Event and Rental Director and Facilities Director leading up to and during public and private special events
  • Supervise caterers and other service staff
  • Proactively provide leadership to the facilities assistants about what needs to be done and maintain team calendar
  • Meet regularly with Facilities Director regarding the status of outstanding work orders
  • Serve as a point of contact and ensure a warm, welcoming, and helpful experience for community members, event rentals, and staff
  • Continually optimize processes, including identifying best practices, and working efficiently

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some experience and/or a strong desire to learn skills in general maintenance and landscaping
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation; welcoming, positive attitude and capacity to adapt
  • Ability to work days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends - this may flex depending on the week
  • Enjoy being helpful and supporting a wide variety of events
  • Clear, professional, and effective written and verbal communications
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position works a variety of hours. While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $19.38-$22.55 commensurate with experience. The benefits currently include medical and access to reimbursement account (HSA) with generous employer contributions, 403b retirement plan with up to a 4% employer match, dental, vision, disability, life, as well as paid vacation time and holidays, staff discounts, and more.
