Tally is Hiring a Senior Tax Accountant Near Newnan, GA
Responsibilities
- Prepare County Property Taxes in multi-states and File returns timely.
- Make quarterly estimated and extension payments for state income taxes timely.
- Review State and Federal Income Tax Returns prepared by outside consultants for accuracy.
- Increase knowledge and understanding of tax related issues, including federal, state, international, sales tax, property tax credits and incentives and VAT
- Perform tax research as needed
- Keep track and validate Sales Tax Certificates in Avalara for all states as well as reconcile transactions. This includes approving sales tax returns prepared by Avalara.
- Respond to tax notices and make corresponding calls to follow up with the corresponding authorities and file other tax returns as applicable
- Follow up on reporting requirements to Japan
- Liaison with Hitachi America Ltd (HAL) and other CPA consultants on tax related issues
- Track and Report Credits and Incentives
- Assist with interim and year-end audit support as well as statutory audits
- Lead the tax functions and ensure that annual reports and licenses are filed timely.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance
- CPA or EA is a plus.
- 3 years of accounting experience and/or related audit experience.
- 3 years of tax experience
- Advanced Excel skills is a plus
- Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively, knowledgeably and collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and processes
