GREETER:
Primary Responsibilities: Must be able to smile, make guests smile, and provide a high level of hospitality to guests. Acknowledges guests and escorts them to seats. Manages special seating requests and seating flow consistent with availability. Informs customers of food server’s name. Places menus, placemats, napkins and silverware on table. Retrieves high chairs and booster seats. Resets tables; checks for proper settings and presentations. Assists servers and bussers by getting food or beverage items. Observes general functioning of dining room; relays information to management and dining room personnel. Requests feedback from guests; makes appropriate accommodations.
Knows soups and specials. Sweeps carpets with hand sweeper. Wipes windowsills, glass light fixtures. Cleans and sanitizes highchairs and boosters. Answers telephone. Cleans glass doors. Cleans and stocks dessert cases and cash register area. Maintains a clean and well-stocked service bar area (where applicable). Assists with Food server duties on an as needed basis. Other duties as assigned by management.
Secondary Responsibilities: Verifies accuracy of cash drawer at start of shift. Collects and processes guest checks, cash, and credit card payments through the cash register according to proper procedures. Ensures an accurate amount of all transactions, collections, and disbursements. Counts money and charge sales in cash drawer at end of shift. Reconciles receipts with total sales to verify accuracy of transactions. Coordinates “to go” orders; records orders with POS system; communicates orders to grill cooks. Verifies and packages orders. Processes sale and redemption of gift certificates. Greets exiting customers at cash register. Solicits feedback from customers and communicates comments to management. Memorizes menu items. Obtains information regarding specials and promotions.
Requirements: Must be able to smile, make guests smile, and provide a high level of hospitality to guests. Acknowledges guests and escorts them to seats. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time. Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and stoop on occasion. Must be able to lift up to 24 lbs. up to 20 times per day. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling with both hands. Must have good verbal communication skills. Must display a neat, clean, and attractive personal appearance. Must display a pleasant, outgoing, and energetic personality and project a positive attitude. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must successfully pass cashier test. Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to count and handle money quickly and accurately. Should have basic knowledge of cash register / POS system.
