Regis Jesuit High School is Hiring a Director of Information Technology Near Aurora, CO

Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Director of IT to start immediately. This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate has been hired.

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for providing the planning and management of the campus-wide hardware and related software technology services. This includes the development, acquisition, implementation and support of the information technology infrastructure and the Information Technology Department personnel who work to actively support the mission of Regis Jesuit High School.

This role is responsible for planning and supervision of the budget, technology purchasing, staffing, network infrastructure, and related employee performance management. The Director of IT will work with the President’s Leadership Team and other school leadership groups to ensure alignment of IT department goals with the goals of the greater organization.

Additional duties include maintaining accurate written records of IT procedures, software, and equipment, developing cost projections, and creating clear statements of policy usage and responsibilities.

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt administrative position with three weeks of vacation plus staff holidays. The salary range for this position is $127,000 - $139,000, based on experience. To learn more about Regis Jesuit High School, and to review the benefits, please click HERE.

Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities)

Strategy & Planning:
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of an IT roadmap in alignment with business objectives. Plan and lead the transition to additional cloud services, as appropriate.
  • Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience and boost productivity.
  • Coordinate regular security monitoring and auditing to identify possible security issues.
  • Develop and implement IT Policies and best practice guidelines for the organization.

Operations & Customer Support:

  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of IT-related hardware, software, and systems.
  • Manage IT staffing, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, and performance management.
  • Develop the IT annual budget and manage technology-related capital expenses. Coordinate with vendors and oversee project execution to ensure value and return on investment.
  • Develop and manage the IT department budget and expenditures.
  • Monitor and adjust system performance and capacity.
  • Plan business recovery and system fault tolerance strategies.

Security & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with academic and operations leadership to ensure data privacy and security compliance based on regulatory standards.
  • Set standards and enforce best practices in application and systems support, security protocols, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee risk management and disaster recovery planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.
  • Evaluate external advancements in the IT industry to improve user satisfaction, reduce operating expenses, and maximize revenues.

Vendor Management:

  • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements, ensuring successful execution of projects and realization of return on investment.
  • Establish partnerships and alliances with IT Vendors.

Project Management:

  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
  • Establish foundational project management and change management methods for effective project execution.
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs for IT services.

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in the IT team.
  • Mentor and develop IT team members, including professional development.

Communication:

  • Liaise with other departments to facilitate inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Keep CFO current on IT performance, risks, and opportunities.
    • Facilitate appropriate cross-functional IT planning and advising committees to:
    • Create, update and implement a school-wide technology plan in support of the school’s mission and goals.
    • Assess current technology service and discuss possible remedies where needed.
    • Ensure department specific software and database applications work according to school policy and procedures.
    • Approve the selection of programs to be used on network devices in consultation with users.
    • Investigate new software and hardware technologies to meet school and departmental goals.

Training:

  • Coordinate technology training for employees, students, and parents when appropriate, including school IT policy and procedures and legal licensing of software.
  • Consult with Jesuit schools, Archdiocese of Denver, and other local schools to determine areas of cooperation.
  • Attend Missouri Province and JSN IT workshops and other appropriate conferences.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, personal drive, and ability to see projects through to execution in a matrixed environment
  • Strong understanding of IT operations including service desk, desktop and server support, networking, network security, and data integrity.
  • Ability to provide hands-on oversight of progress on projects and services to ensure timely execution
  • Work within existing technical architectures and with other teammates to implement solutions within existing standards, including FERPA, and related organizational IT architecture and security policies.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels including, but not limited to, leadership, parents, students, donors and administrative staff.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science plus five years experience in a network administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Familiarity with vendor contracting and negotiation
  • Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations
  • Experience with implementation of information technology integrations
  • Experience motivating teams to produce quality work under time constraints while simultaneously manage multiple critical projects
  • Experience presenting, facilitating and participating in group meetings
  • Willingness to work a flexible work schedule based on the needs of the school
  • Ability to conceive, express and promote a vision of information technology in support of the school’s mission and vision
  • Ability to interact professionally and work effectively with all constituents of Regis Jesuit High School
  • On-call availability
