About The Program
The AmeriHealth Caritas DC Pathways to Work Program is a 6-week young adult employment program that exposes participants to various public and private sector industries, short-term job placement opportunities, and training that will help participants increase their self-efficacy, gain work experience, and develop skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce. It is the goal to expose youth and young adults to livable wage occupations, high demand professions, and the opportunity to identify career pathways inside in demand industries. This program is an immersive learning experience for District residents aged 18 – 24, that will include job readiness training, career days, field trips and hands-on work experience with businesses across the District. Pathways to Work is a strength-based employment program where young adults will be matched with career opportunities that link to their skillsets and interests. Pathways to Work Program Overview
The AmeriHealth Caritas DC Pathways to Work Program provides a 6-week internship, along with mentoring, coaching, workshops, and training to increase participant’s job readiness. Young adult’s ages 18-24 years old have the opportunity to participate in enriching and constructive work experiences through subsidized placements in various work industries. Participants work 16 total hours per week between Monday-Friday and attend 4-hour Professional Development Sessions each Saturday.

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for this program, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 18-24 years old
- Be a resident of the District of Columbia (with proof of address)
- Be available to participate 20 hours a week
