Hiring Kennel Supervisor to help with the day-to-day operations of our boarding, daycare, and grooming facility. Ideal candidate MUST be able to multi-task, have excellent communication skills and strong customer service skills. This role reports to the General Manager.
Supervisor is expected to lead a shift with kennel assistants. Must be able to think independently and find what needs to be done each day following daily checklist. There will NOT be another manager on most shifts to direct you or tell you what needs to be done. You need to be able to lead staff to get all cleaning done, keep animals safe, and take care of customers.
Schedule will be rotating weeks:
Week 1 : Sun 6:45a-5:45p, Wed 6:45a-7p, Thu 6:45-7p
Week 2: Sun 6:45a-5:45p, Wed 6:45a-7p, Thu 1-7p, Sat 6:45a-5:45p
THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALITY IS DEPENDABILITY. It seems simple, but showing up and showing up on-time is key. You are leading younger team members and caring for animals that are dependent on you to eat and potty first thing in the morning.
MUST HAVE a MINIMUM 1-2 Years of PROFESSIONAL KENNEL EXPERIENCE
Please note that this position is full time and requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work some weekends and all holidays. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time and able to lift 50 lbs.
This is a hands-on, physical role and not solely administrative. Responsibilities include cleaning (30%), bathing (5%), managing employees (30%), administration (5%), and supervising dogs (30%).
- Attain highest levels of animal care by overseeing proper feedings, medicine requirements, behaviors, allergies, check in/out dates etc.
- Monitor and support team to ensure all daily tasks are completed to a satisfactory level.
- Help train and mentor Kennel Assistants
- Promote a supportive, collaborative and fun team environment.Occasionally bathe dogs using proper bathing procedures
- Clip nails (sometimes by yourself or with the assistance of another team member)
Daily Core Duties
- Manages and maintains a safe, clean, calm, and fun playroom
- Positively engages with dogs in an open-play, off-leash environment while keeping your playroom impeccably clean
- Addresses dog behavioral issues proactively through your understanding of dog language and dog behavior
- Uses redirection, recall, and basic training methods to effectively manage your playroom of dogs. This also includes knowing when a dog needs to rest and relax, but it will NEVER include using physical force or punishment of a dog. We have zero-tolerance for the mistreatment of dogs
- Occasional Administrative Tasks · Backup for front desk staff during slow periods: Answering phone, making appointments, front desk relations, calling veterinarians for vaccination records, checking guests in/out
- You must be an independent worker who can manage a playroom in a professional, loving, and safe manner.
- Accepts that getting dirty, wet, cold or hot, while working is part of the job
- Demonstrates reliability and maintains impeccable time and attendance standards
Cleaning Responsibilities and Tasks
- Continually monitor playroom and keep it free of messes and fur by immediately and continually spot cleaning (picking up poo and mopping up pee), cleaning walls and equipment
- Handle daily cleaning assignments including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, sanitizing rooms, scrubbing kennels, beds and toys
Multi-tasking is daily requirement to serve customers and dogs with the utmost care

Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years dog experience. Kennel, Training, Veterinary, etc.
- Experience in open-play environment
- Collaborative and creative thinker who can quickly assess situations and come up with creative solutions.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
