Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERSI) and are provided to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a .50 FTE or greater contract.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


Acceptable Experience and Training

  • Must hold a valid Idaho Certificate, with CTE Work-based Learning Coordinator endorsement (0099) or CTE Business Technology Education endorsement (9093) or CTE Career Counselor endorsement (7016) with a CTE or standard instructional certificate (cannot be solely an Idaho State Pupil Personnel Certificate), or eligible to receive an endorsement as listed above
  • Previous experience in occupational training, career counseling, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with the unique needs and challenges of students pursuing individualized occupational training
  • Preferred minimum of five years of teaching experience
  • Other requirements as determined by the Superintendent and/or Board

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Districtwide Individualized Occupational Training (IOT) Instructional Program:

  • Assist students in establishing career and educational direction, and prepare them for a work-based learning experience suited to their strengths and motivations.
  • Develop and execute appropriate lesson plans, instructional strategies and materials utilizing the CTE Workplace Skills for Career Readiness Standards.
  • Provide work-based learning experiences for students with career interests outside of the CTE pathways offered within the Boise School District.
  • Oversee and coordinate technical instruction provided by a community worksite.
  • Develop training plans and agreements that meet current industry standards.
  • Document work-based learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Adhere to Certified Class Specification Teacher essential duties and responsibilities.


Individualized Training Plans:

  • Develop and implement personalized occupational training plans for students, considering their skills, interests, and career goals.
  • Collaborate with students, educators, and industry professionals to tailor training programs to meet individual needs.


Industry Liaison:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with local businesses, industry leaders, and employers.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, demands, and skills requirements to align training programs accordingly.


Curriculum Development:

  • Work closely with educators to design and enhance occupational training curricula.
  • Integrate real-world industry practices and standards into training materials.


Career Guidance:

  • Provide career guidance to students, helping them make informed decisions about their occupational training and career paths.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars on career exploration and industry expectations.


Collaboration with Educational Staff:

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure the seamless integration of occupational training into the overall educational framework.
  • Provide professional development to educators on industry-relevant teaching methods.
