Deposit Operations Specialist I – File Maintenance and Wire Transfer Clerk

REPORTS TO

Deposit Operations Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Deposit Operations Specialist performs multiple tasks to support the daily transaction processing and servicing of client deposit accounts.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The goal of the Deposit Operations area is to achieve the optimum level of cross-training; therefore, duties and responsibilities of the Deposit Operations Specialist may be assigned from the following:

  • Responsible for performing daily file maintenance from branches and system generated reports. This will include DDA/SAV/CD/SDB/CIF level maintenance.
  • Responsible for debit card maintenance to include travel alerts, limit increases, card orders, status changes and normal daily maintenance.
  • Responsible for processing ATM/Disputes in adherence to Regulation E requirements.
  • Serve as a backup to the Wire Transfer Clerk and backup for incoming and outgoing wires. This includes designated Trust Department wire days.
  • Assist in the processing of foreign currency wires.
  • Assist Call Center overflow customers that have basic questions.
  • Reconciling internal accounts daily to identify and clear/resolve exceptions.
  • Perform processes required for the Bank’s ICS/CDARS program, including the setup of new accounts and processing transactions/renewals.
  • Support Business Internet Banking products; including RDC and Positive Pay monitoring and maintenance.
  • Responsible for acting within the Bank’s Wire, OFAC, BSA, AML and maintenance procedures/policies.

Other

  • Responsible for making suggestions to increase efficiencies and identify potential risk.
  • Assist with the scanning of departmental documents. 
  • Assist in preparation of various month end reports. 
  • Cross train in other areas within the department.
  • Responsible for updating job procedures so they are current.
  • Responsible for answering branch and customer telephone inquiries.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least one year of bank experience. 
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as needed. Must be able to work under pressure to meet daily deadlines.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

This is primarily a sedentary position but there is frequent standing, crouching, reaching, and pulling motions. Requires computer input with some repetitive motions. Requires light lifting and moving items of up to twenty pounds.
