LG Chem—Uniseal is currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to manage and supervise a new Warehouse Construction Project of LGCEA, a subsidiary of LG Chem, in Evansville, IN. This may be a full- or part-time position.
Position Overview: The Construction Project Manager will provide overall project leadership during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases. This role requires a self-starter who can take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision. The successful candidate will act as the local representative for construction projects supporting the growth of LGCEA.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk), including planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Collaborate with state, county, and city authorities to obtain permits and coordinate with public infrastructure suppliers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Supervise project progress against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and timelines.
  • Verify and negotiate change orders with contractors (or design-builders) to reach profitable agreements.
  • Evaluate project progress and variances, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure project objectives, budget, and schedule are met.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report any issues.
Requirements and Skills:
  • BS in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience within a design-build or General Contractor company, working with multiple engineers, architects, and diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Preferred: Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software (P6, MS Project, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A team player with leadership abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
