Performs highly complex graphic and multimedia design and production work to assist with the promotion of department initiatives and events. Serves as the primary digital content creator for department’s various multimedia platforms.
** Interviews will begin the week of June 24.

• Design, edit, and integrate digital content, graphics, animation, photography, illustrations and other multimedia visualization and imaging products for various social media platforms.
• Plan, design, develop and produce graphics and interactive media materials.
• Advise agency staff regarding creative multimedia design trends and needs.
• Develops the layout and production design of magazines, brochures, reports, and other publications.
• Maintains design programs, design system components and equipment.
• Maintains archive of electronic production files, artwork, and images.

• Preforms related design work as assigned.

 
Education
Required: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in communication design, fine arts, graphic design, visual arts, or a related field.
Experience
Required: Demonstrated experience in graphic arts and multimedia production in a professional setting.
Certifications/ Licenses

• Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and have a good driving record.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of graphic and multimedia design; non-computer-based and multimedia graphics production methods, techniques, and equipment; animation; design principles; printing processes; and publishing industry standards and operations.
• Skill in the use of graphic design software and multimedia packages.
• Ability to plan the preparation of graphic design and multimedia design projects; to design and produce graphics and multimedia material; to communicate effectively; to oversee and/or supervise the design work of others.

Successful applicant must not have been convicted of any criminal offenses and will undergo a background investigation to determine suitability for the position. May be subject to DMV driving record review as required by amount of work-related driving, specified by support responsibilities.
