What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Security Engineer position at Zone IT Solutions?
We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer – Web Proxy Separation SME. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise network security, particularly in firewall and web proxy technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in network security engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Firewalls: Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/FTD
- Web Proxies: Zscaler, Blue Coat/Symantec ProxySG, Forcepoint/Websense
- Solid understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs
- Experience with security concepts such as IDS/IPS, NAT, VPN, load balancing, and segmentation
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, Splunk, syslog
- Experience supporting network separation or divestiture projects (highly preferred)
- Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell preferred)
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
