Position Overview

The Lead Mitigation Technician is a senior, hands-on field role responsible for managing water mitigation and mold remediation projects from start to finish. You are the on-site lead, directing crews, ensuring work meets IICRC standards, documenting progress, and maintaining clear communication with clients and the office.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership in the field, and confidence making real-time decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead water mitigation and mold remediation projects from start to completion
• Direct technicians and helpers to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and office staff

Technical Execution

• Perform moisture mapping, extraction, containment, and structural drying
• Monitor drying progress and adjust equipment as needed
• Ensure all work meets IICRC and company standards
• Complete detailed documentation, photos, and daily notes

Client Communication

• Serve as the on-site point of contact
• Clearly explain the mitigation process and next steps
• Maintain a professional, customer-first approach

Safety & Equipment

• Enforce safety and health protocols
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment

This is a physical, hands-on position involving lifting equipment and working in various environments.

Qualifications

Required

• Prior experience in water mitigation or restoration
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with clear documentation habits
• Physically capable of performing field work
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred

• IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, or equivalent)
• Experience with mold remediation or fire restoration
