MRO Buyer – Supplies or Services Procurement
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced MRO Buyers to support our manufacturing operations. We have two distinct opportunities within the MRO Procurement team: MRO Buyer (Supplies) and MRO Buyer (Services). Candidates with experience in either area—or both—are encouraged to apply.
Both roles are responsible for developing supplier relationships, driving cost savings, supporting plant reliability, and ensuring uninterrupted operations through effective procurement strategies.
Position 1: MRO Buyer (Supplies)
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure MRO materials, industrial spare parts, and consumables.
- Manage categories including bearings, motors, electrical and mechanical components, tools, PPE, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
- Develop sourcing strategies and negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Optimize inventory levels and manage critical spare parts programs.
- Partner with Maintenance, Reliability, Operations, and Storeroom teams to support plant uptime.
- Analyze spend data and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure material availability.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of MRO purchasing experience focused on materials and supplies.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and manufacturing supply chains.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Knowledge of inventory management and spare parts optimization.
Position 2: MRO Buyer (Services)
Key Responsibilities
- Source and manage maintenance and technical service providers supporting plant operations.
- Negotiate service agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and vendor contracts.
- Manage categories including maintenance contractors, equipment repair services, calibration services, facility services, utility providers, and outage/turnaround support.
- Evaluate supplier performance, service quality, and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Engineering, and Project teams.
- Drive cost savings while maintaining service reliability and operational effectiveness.
- Support vendor qualification, onboarding, and performance management activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of procurement experience focused on service contracts and vendor management.
- Strong contract negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience managing SOWs, service agreements, and contractor performance.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, industrial, or plant operations environments.
Qualifications for Both Roles
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, chemical, food processing, automotive, or similar operations.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated success in cost reduction, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
Note: These are two separate positions—one focused on MRO Materials & Supplies Procurement and the other on MRO Services Procurement. Candidates with experience in both areas are highly desirable and may be considered for either opportunity based on their background and expertise.
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
