Our client, an innovative automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Group Leader – Manufacturing Quality Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for quality engineering across multiple manufacturing disciplines and vehicle systems. Required Qualifications
Automotive Manufacturing Experience (Non-Negotiable)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field required.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- 12 years of automotive manufacturing quality experience.
- Experience within an OEM or Tier 1 automotive supplier environment strongly preferred.
- Proven background supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated success in both hands-on quality engineering and leadership roles.
- Experience supporting major vehicle, manufacturing process, or plant launches.
- Track record of driving quality readiness during new product introduction activities.
- Experience supporting multiple production disciplines such as assembly, body, paint, propulsion, electrical systems, or related operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing controls, process capability, and quality system integration.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team of Manufacturing Quality Engineers.
- Provide both technical and organizational leadership across multiple manufacturing disciplines.
- Establish and execute manufacturing quality strategies aligned with business objectives and production milestones.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical manufacturing quality concerns and systemic issues.
- Foster a proactive, data-driven quality culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement.
- Support successful new product introductions, manufacturing process launches, and plant start-up activities.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Program Management teams to ensure quality readiness.
- Drive process capability improvements and robust control strategies across manufacturing operations.
- Lead containment activities, root cause investigations, and implementation of permanent corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support internal audits, assessments, and corrective action initiatives.
- Drive consistent application of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
