About the Role
Zephyr Wind Services is seeking an organized, safety-focused Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support our Hutchinson operations. This position is responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely shipment and receipt of products, materials, supplies, and equipment.
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator will prepare orders, schedule deliveries, maintain shipping documentation, track vendor performance, communicate with customers and vendors, and assist with inventory control. This is a hands-on position that includes loading and unloading trucks and operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with physical warehouse and shop duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare customer orders accurately and load outbound trucks according to customer and shipment requirements.
- Receive, inspect, process, and document incoming products, materials, and supplies.
- Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required shipping documentation.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with customers, vendors, and freight carriers.
- Track shipments, vendor lead times, and on-time delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate records for all inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Confirm that loads are properly prepared and comply with applicable safety requirements.
- Research and assist in resolving shipment, customer, vendor, and delivery issues.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Stock materials and supplies in designated locations.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Help optimize warehouse and storage space utilization.
- Follow company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Work independently while contributing effectively as part of the broader operations team.
- Perform additional shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two to three years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, warehousing, distribution, inventory control, or a similar role.
- Experience preparing and maintaining shipping and receiving documentation.
- Experience coordinating freight, deliveries, or vendor shipments.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
- Working knowledge of inventory control and material-handling practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and meet established deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and members of the public.
- Ability to work extended hours when business needs require.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, inventory management, business, or a related field.
- Experience conducting inventory analysis, tracking operational metrics, or preparing reports.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, heavy-equipment, or service environment.

Physical Requirements
This position requires regular work in a warehouse and shop environment. The employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move materials throughout the workday. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging, and related equipment.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $26.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated job-related skills.
