Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Utility Agent to join our dynamic and culture-focused team. As a Utility Agent, you will play a critical role in assisting the customer through the final step of the solar process- submitting all paperwork and documentation required by the local utility company for "NEM" (Net Energy Metering) and “PTO” (Permission To Operate the solar system). You will be responsible for overseeing the utility application process and pushing solar accounts in this step through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Submit applications, paperwork, and solar system information to local utility companies
- Monitor utility progress and provide solutions to both the customer and utility provider promptly in the event of an issue
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify utility requirements and objectives and ensure progress is made on each account
- Build and maintain databases of utility information
Customer Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers while in the utility stage of the process
- Provide regular project status updates and address customer concerns
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including applications and NEM/PTO reports
Qualifications:
- Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with customer service and occasional complaint resolution
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to navigate websites, application forms, spreadsheets, and customer relationship management software
- At this time, no remote work is offered. Work must be done in the office
