Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and quality-oriented Regional Field Director to lead Area Managers and residential solar Installation Crews across multiple states. You will direct our field operations including recruiting, training, process improvement, subcontractor selection and management, and workmanship to ensure the company is completing residential solar installations and meeting KPIs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to ensure installations are completed to high safety, quality, and timeliness standards through industry volatility and with a high turnaround workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of field operations including installation, inspection, and services to meet KPIs and company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing regional field leadership and coach them to recruit, train, and lead high-performing installation crews, technicians, and warehouse staff.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive continuous improvements in installation timelines, quality, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
- Utilize data to evaluate past performance and trends to forecast growth and determine strategies to meet seasonal demands.
- Champion safety and ensure teams adhere to OSHA standards and the company’s safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance to align field strategy with company growth objectives.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation across field and operations processes.
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement to Set the Standard in residential solar.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of progressive experience in residential solar or construction leadership with proven ability to lead field teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Strong working knowledge of solar installation processes, electrical systems, and local building codes
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC code with proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings for accurate installations
- Management experience with success in recruiting, personnel development, leading teams to achieve KPI success, and setting high standards
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment
- Ability to travel up to 20% nationwide with valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
While the majority of the role will be in an office setting, up to 20% of time will be spent traveling to local offices for safety audits, quality checks, recruiting initiatives, and to train crews. During training activities, the following physical abilities are required:
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly
