Position Overview
Seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week contract assignment on the 4 Medical unit. This is a 25-bed medical-surgical unit caring for a diverse patient population, with a strong focus on stroke care, comfort care/hospice, and medically complex patients.
Patient Population & Clinical Experience
RNs may care for patients with:
- Stroke and neurological conditions
- Comfort care and hospice needs
- Post-operative conditions, including amputations
- Drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
- Heparin drips
- Wound care
- Altered mental status (AMS)
- CIWA patients
- Acute kidney injury (AKI)
- Dialysis patients
- COPD exacerbations
- Complex medical-surgical conditions
Requirements
- Current, active Illinois RN license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Medical-Surgical experience required
- NIHSS certification required
- Stroke certification preferred
- Strong assessment, medication administration, and patient-care skills
- Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend availability required
- Experience caring for medically complex patients preferred
