Job Summary
The Procurement Enterprise -Wide Specialist – IT is a must & hopefully some Mission Critical Systems experience. This person will be responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, coordination, and lifecycle support of technology-related infrastructure and mission-critical equipment for hyperscale data center construction projects. This role bridges construction procurement with information technology, ensuring seamless integration of IT hardware, network infrastructure, security systems, and operational technology (OT) within fast-paced mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate has experience in both construction procurement and enterprise IT infrastructure, with strong knowledge of data center technologies, vendor management, supply chain coordination, and change control processes.
Key Responsibilities
IT & Technology Procurement
- Procure IT and low-voltage systems supporting hyperscale and mission-critical data center projects.
- Manage sourcing and purchasing activities for:
- Network infrastructure
- Structured cabling
- Fiber optic systems
- Server racks and cabinets
- Network switches and routers
- Wireless systems
- Security/access control systems
- CCTV and monitoring platforms
- DCIM systems
- BMS/EPMS integration hardware
- AV and communications systems
- Coordinate procurement of owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) technology equipment.
Mission Critical Infrastructure Support
- Collaborate with construction, commissioning, and IT teams to ensure technology systems align with operational requirements.
- Support procurement for mission-critical systems including:
- UPS monitoring interfaces
- Network-connected power infrastructure
- Intelligent PDUs
- Environmental monitoring systems
- Data hall connectivity infrastructure
- Assist with integration planning between construction trades and IT deployment teams.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Develop relationships with IT manufacturers, distributors, integrators, and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, lead times, technical compliance, and pricing.
- Coordinate RFQs, bid evaluations, and procurement negotiations.
- Track long-lead technology equipment and mitigate supply chain risks.
Technical Coordination
- Review construction drawings, technology packages, network diagrams, and equipment submittals.
- Coordinate with:
- IT infrastructure teams
- Network engineers
- Design consultants
- Low-voltage contractors
- Cybersecurity teams
- Commissioning agents
- Ensure procured equipment meets project specifications and compatibility requirements.
Change Management & Documentation
- Support procurement change requests associated with technology systems.
- Maintain procurement logs, asset tracking, and vendor documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, cybersecurity requirements, and client procurement policies.
- Assist with inventory control, receiving coordination, and deployment schedules.
