Role Overview
A civil engineering and land development consulting firm is launching a new branch in the Fort Lauderdale/Dania Beach area and is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to help lead the office. This Senior Project Manager / Assistant Branch Manager position is suited for a mid- to senior-level Civil Land Development Engineer who wants leadership responsibility while remaining actively involved in technical work.
This role offers the opportunity to be a foundational hire, contributing to team development, building client relationships, and delivering high-quality site design and land development services from the outset. Candidates must already be based in the Fort Lauderdale area; relocation support is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Consulting Leadership
• Oversee all land development consulting activities for the new branch
• Apply strong technical expertise to ensure high standards in site design and permitting
Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of civil engineering professionals
• Establish team culture, processes, and performance standards
Client Engagement
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients in the South Florida market
Project Management
• Direct site design and land development projects, including full permitting processes
• Ensure compliance with Florida land development regulations and construction permit requirements across multiple sectors
Requirements
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida (mandatory)
• At least 10 years of experience in land development and site design
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools
• Strong understanding of Florida land development regulations and permitting processes
• Demonstrated experience managing teams and maintaining client relationships
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must currently reside in the Fort Lauderdale / Dania Beach area
• Ability to pass a background check
• No visa sponsorship available
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
