What are the responsibilities and job description for the Future Opening: Sales Professional position at Zagers Pool and Spa?
We are seeking to add a new member to the Zagers team! As West Michigan’s premier pool and spa company, we’re seeking an experienced sales professional to join our fast-paced retail team. We value strong communication skills, ability to build relationships, a passion for learning, and exceptional customer service. The right candidate will work together with team members, managers, and other departments to ensure that we service the customer above all else. Big ticket sales experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers in a friendly, professional way
- Build customer relationships.
- Actively engage in selling above ground pools, spas and other items promoted by Zagers.
- Provide accurate information (i.e., product features, pricing, after-sales services)
- Help retail team grow in-store sales
- Product merchandising
- Water Testing
- Inventory counts & restocking shelves
- Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.
- Answer phone calls, return messages and promptly nurture leads.
- Follow store procedures
- Assist your Store Manager and Sales Manager as needed
- Continuously learn new products and processes
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Associate or similar role.
- Understanding of the retail sales process.
- Basic math skills.
- Track record of achieving sales quotas.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships.
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments.
- Problem-solving competence.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs of product.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Desire to work with customers on a consistent basis.
- Flexibility to work at various locations.
- High school degree.

This means we greet customers with a smile, escort them to what they need, answer questions eagerly, and speak highly of all staff and departments. If a customer is directed to another dept or team member, we follow through and communicate next steps and resolution with all staff involved with the interaction. If a quote is promised to a customer in 2 hours, we make every effort to send it in 1. If we say we will be at a customer’s house in 2 hours and we are unexpectedly delayed, we call and reset expectations.
