Associate Attorney (City Prosecutor)

ZSK law firm has an immediate opening for prosecuting attorney (Associate Attorney) position. We are seeking a recent law school graduate or newly bar passing attorney who is an intelligent, tough, and fair minded individual. Our Lynnwood based firm serves 12 municipal​ities throughout Snohomish, Skagit, and Island County. Be a part of a practice that focuses on restorative justice and is inclusive, progressive and values a work life balance. No criminal law experience needed, but preferred. Training and mentorship will be provided. Eleven (11) paid county/state holidays, plus PTO. Occasional flex scheduling. Employer paid medical, dental, vision. Employer contribution to 401(k) plan (3% of gross monthly salary). Payment of employee’s WSBA annual dues. CLE reimbursement upon approval. Additional ​end of year compensation opportunities.

If recent graduate must be qualified to become a Rule 9 and pay is$25.00 per hour. Newly bar passing attorney pay starts at $7,500 per month.

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a professional law degree (J.D.) and be in good standing with the Washington State Bar. Position requires background check. Must be able to comply with CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) policy and security requirements (training and certification provided by firm). ZSK is based in Lynnwood and currently prosecute for the City of Arlington, Burlington, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Oak Harbor, Sedro-Woolley, Sultan, and the Town of Woodway. Must have ability to travel independently (vehicle) and maintain auto insurance to commute to several County District and Municipal Courts. Mileage reimbursement when applicable.

Job Description: Prosecute misdemeanor criminal and civil violations occurring within our jurisdictions. Work with several CJIS database systems. Work courteously, cooperatively, effectively and professionally with public officials, City Attorney staff, city staff, Police Department​s, District and Municipal Court judges and court staff, private attorneys, public defenders, and the public in carrying out duties and responsibilities of the position. Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive and/or legal information.
