Responsibilities for the Joint Fires Network Engineer include:
- Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of circuits across routers, switches, and optical transport systems
- Perform real-time circuit rerouting and network restoration during outages or maintenance events
- Monitor network alarms and proactively troubleshoot issues using enterprise network management tools
- Document and manage incidents, outages, and resolutions throughout the full lifecycle of network events
- Collaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, and engineering partners to maintain high network availability
- 4 years of experience in network operations, transport networks, or IP networking (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
- Strong experience with routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, optical transport, and network troubleshooting
- Ability to operate in a 24x7 shift environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security CE)
