About the Company
Established family-owned manufacturing company seeking an experienced Shipping& Receiving Specialist. Our company employs approximately 50 associates and has operated continuously for nearly 80 years. We offer a stable work environment with very low employee turn over. This position works closely with production, purchasing, shipping, and customers to support the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing company.
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our factory team. This is a hands-on, manual position responsible for the accurate preparation and processing of outgoing shipments, creation of shipping documentation, and physical handling of freight. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, works well independently, and has practical experience in an industrial or manufacturing shipping environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, shipping labels, and delivery receipts
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, completeness, and proper packaging prior to release
- Assist with the physical packaging, palletizing, strapping, and banding of outgoing materials and products
- Coordinate with freight carriers and schedule pickups; communicate shipment status to supervisors and internal departments
- Verify outgoing orders against work orders, purchase orders, or pick sheets to ensure accuracy
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping/receiving area in compliance with safety standards
- Record and track shipment activity using paper-based logs or basic computer entry
- Receive and inspect inbound deliveries; report discrepancies or damages
- Properly store received materials and communicate their arrival to the appropriate departments
- Operate manual material handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.) as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of shipping & receiving experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment
- Demonstrated ability to prepare Bills of Lading and shipping/packing documentation
- Hands-on experience with packaging, strapping, banding, and palletizing materials
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, purchase orders, and shipping documents
- Basic computer skills for data entry and document printing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly; heavier loads with team lift or equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced factory environment with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTL and/or flatbed freight shipments
- Familiarity with carrier booking and freight bill processes
- Experience in a heavy industrial setting
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
