What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Worker position at YOUTH SERVICES SYSTEM INC?
Job Summary:
The childcare workers' primary duties for before and after-school care are planning and supervising activities for youth. The childcare worker will assist parents and their company by preparing snacks for youth, educating youth on hygiene, monitoring them for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, providing them with age-appropriate instruction, and working with parents to ensure children learn and socialize positively. They may also assist with sterilizing equipment, play areas, and other duties to ensure the youth are in a safe, engaging, and clean environment.
Successful childcare workers have outstanding follow thorough and caring with an eye for detail. Staff are prepared to meet the position's physical demands and understand the childhood development process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interact, monitor, facilitate, and assist elementary-aged children individually and in groups.
- Instruct children in activities promoting social, physical, and intellectual growth.
- Instruct and assist children with personal cleanliness, hygiene, and self-care.
- Provide snacks and assist with keeping the rooms well-maintained and clean.
- Willing to abide by State regulations and have good interpersonal communication skills with diverse people.
- Maintain client files and all required documentation.
- Attain and maintain certification as required. This position does not work when there is no school.
- Other duties as needed
Elm Grove:
Before Care - 6:45 am to 9:00 am (M-F)
After Care – 3:30 am to 5:30 pm (M-F)
McNinch:
After Care – 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm (M-F)
Additional days or hours may be required.

Education and Experience:
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer Associate or Bachelor's Degree in child development, social services, education, or another related field. Prefer 1-year experience in Childcare and Teaching; Prefers Child Care Development Associate Certification.
Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance as required by law.
