POSITION SUMMARY
Trail Crew members are responsible for maintaining and enhancing bike park trails and base‑area grounds. The position requires proficiency in trail‑building design and construction methods, advanced mountain‑biking skills, general construction capabilities, and the safe operation of all‑terrain vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
TRAIL CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE
• Works with team members to maintain trails within the bike park and surrounding areas.
• Maintains all wood and man‑made features.
• Performs shoveling, raking, with daily walking/hiking as part of trail upkeep.
• Conducts weed‑whacking on a bi‑weekly basis.
• Monitors all areas of the bike park for hazards such as downed trees, damaged signage, erosion, or feature degradation.
• Coordinates maintenance or repair of trail sections or features identified as needing attention.
• Operates a variety of hand tools, power tools, and some heavy equipment including shovels, axes, chainsaws, nail guns, ATVs, and similar equipment.
• Assists in setup, takedown, and operation of Airbag operations.
• Employs downhill riding skills to access and inspect trail conditions while maintaining safe riding practices appropriate to individual ability level.
• Exhibits initiative and a clear commitment to producing and upholding high‑quality trail design and flow.
• Performs other duties as assigned
GROUNDSKEEPING & BASE AREA UPKEEP
• Performs groundskeeping duties around trails and the base area.
• Assists with general landscape and environmental maintenance tasks.
PATROL SUPPORT & SAFETY
• Patrols the park to ensure trail readiness.
• Assists bike patrol with opening trails when needed.
• Maintains communication with bike patrol and mountain operations staff regarding safety issues or maintenance needs.
GUEST SERVICE & EDUCATION
• Assists with bike park events as required.
• Supports operational needs that contribute to a positive rider experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old by start date
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proficient Mountain Bike Rider
• Good judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Some knowledge of Mountain Bike Terrain
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
• Hand and power-tool training and familiarity
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Excellent stamina is required. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.
